Studying the historical traces of gender and sexuality upon the urban landscape as they intersect with other forms of belonging. Moving out of ideas of gender and sexuality located in the present moment, and appreciating the diverse forms of gendered experiences in India's urban past. Recognizing legacies and differences between the past and the present day.

Working with the idea of the royal complex as described in the Arthashastra, I created the different chambers of the complex. To create a narrative, I thought of changing the roles of the people in the royal complex in a way that the Varshadharas would be the ones ruling the kingdom, the women of the complex would be the Stree Gana Dhanvis and the Pratihara Rakshis and the rule of the women staying inside the antahpura (inner chamber) would change as to men staying there.
